my sister does my hair because she's a professional cosmetologest. recently, (about 3-4 months ago) i went from a very (almost bleached) blonde hair to dark brown. after having this hair for the past couple months, i'm ready to go back to blonde. my sister said that it's not really gonna be easy, so i'm assuming she's just gonna bleach it? i havent totally discussed it with her, but like i said, i know soon that i want to go back to blonde. i havent gotten my roots done since going dark (they are maybe just a touch lighter than the dark) so any advice on going about getting back to VERY blonde hair???????? thanks! (i'll refer this to my sis, haha..)

Wow, have just almost done it myself (I'm down to a yellow colour - I cant bleach it any further because it's just too damaged) and I totally understand wanting to be blond again but make no mistake your hair WILL get trashed!!!! Bleach is really harsh and if you try to bleach it all at once like I did there is a huge possibility that your hair will just fry and turn to fairy floss on the ends like mine did in places before you get down to the desired colour. Your hair will become really dry and brittle and will snap easily. The best advice I can give you is to be patient and gradually streak it out back to blond. Start with some pieces around your face and work your way back over time. That way you can do protein and moisture treatments between bleachings to maintain the condition of your hair.

CONDITION, CONDITION, CONDITION your hair first and foremost! But if you take some water mixed with bleach and comb this into the darker hair or even laying back in the sink at the salon just pour it on and rinse it of till it looks like it is gone but u will still need to have a toner put on your hair to get an even color all over and your sister will know what i am talking about u could even pick whatever color of blonde u want. My favorite color of blonde is a beige blonde. And yes i'm a 30 year proffessional stylist myself! GOOD LUCK

Honestly I think it is very bad to bleach your hair if it is black to get it to be blonde. Trust me I know how it is. I have always been blonde my whole life and I changed my hair color to a dark brunette, and after like a couple of days I wanted to change it back. I lightened my dark brown to like a light brown and put blonde highlights through like the top layers. So it was light brown on the lower layer and then really blonde on the top. It worked for me. Good luck...

She's gonna have to strip your hair color off. This will have to set on your hair a long time, mine took like a full day..... Very damaging, I regret it fully. Then if you want it normal blonde she might have to add a toner to it. GOOD LUCK!!

I would stay with dark hair, its very pretty and maybe go lighter in the summer.

Yes, you have to bleach it several times, but it is possible. I did the same thing, but my hair was black. Of course I'm sure you know what all that bleach is going to do to your hair, but if you don't put anymore chemicals in it for a while, you can make it nice again with salon quality shampoos. I think you'll be fine.

You have to get this done by a hairdresser because they will need to put in a red pigment first before they put on the brown. If they dont chances are your hair will go green! You could just try a few low lights first and see how you like it, just a thought...

I think you should leave your hair the alone, plus it's closer to your natural color, right? Your going to really damage your hair by going blonde again regardless if your sister is a professional or not.

I would suggest getting a few rounds of full head highlights put in over the next 6 months until it is blonde.

oh man, this is a hard one.
going from a dark color to a light one destroys your hair, leaving it easily broken and not so pretty.. i advise you to slowly go back to blonde, dye it dark brown, then brown, then light brown, then dirty blonde, then blonde, then light blonde....in that order.
