Who says everything happens for a reason?
Maybe the idea that things happen for a reason is just a part of the human imagination. Our brains are constructed to identify cause and effect as part of our survival. But is it really an accurate depiction of the actual world? We are only capable of seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting, and feeling. We are only capable of a limited level of processing. How can we possibly understand how the universe actually works?

If I agreed with you that everything happensfor a reason, I would be agreeing that there is a divine purpose and plan, therefore I have no self or free will in any choice that I make so my life is already lived out I am just acting the part out.
I do not know or care about the reason, I am and I choose to be nice and help other humans when I am able to. There is no cycle, if a tomorrow arrives, I may do what I did today, I may not. But today I helped a person, I watched the rainfall, I drank some water, and I played with a dog in the park. It is dark now, when I go to sleep, I hope to wake up, if I do, I will deal with that time as it happens.

Pretty much the meaning of life.
I don't think you know your reason till you are near the end..
Where you can look over your life and see your achievements.
and it doesn't have to be material achievements or academical.
something as simple as gaining strenght to get though a situation.
I like to call it little life lessons.
We learn grow.
Its reaching that connection with the Gods.

I believe the reason for our existence is to discover our true self -- who we *really* are, from whence we came, why we have descended to the physical plane, and to find our way back to God.

The bible says we exist for God's pleasure. Accept it or deny it, it's your choice. That's just what it says.
