Ask for their blessing when you get married. If they are not supporting of it there is usually something they see that you don't. Parents are human and make mistakes so you can disagree with them and still honour them by stating that you see the situation differently and stay respectful as you make your choices in life. Getting married adds people to your family, it does not remove them. Forsaking all others means other potential partners not all people.

The scriptures say that the man leaves father and mother, and cleaves to his wife.
The man cannot be independent to establish his own family as long as mommy and daddy are still playing the guilt card.

Tell hubby to grow up. Read Genesis. Be a man.
Nothing could bring more honor to a parent than his/her son grows up to be a responsible, self-supporting man, and a supportive husband.

You are supposed to forsaken all others. Our culture has gotten away from its meaning. Your parents are supposed to understand that once you are married that the idea of honoring mother and father means checking to see if they are healthy, if they need anything and if there is something they need from you. Beyond that they no longer have a say in your day-to-day life and this is why you forske all others. The relationship is redefined. In other cultures, once a woman is married the father rarely speaks to his daughter as to not interefere with her relationship in her marriage.

"Forsaking all others" doesn't apply to family. It means to not have any desire for other companions, i.e. husband, wife, boyfriend, girlfriend and etc. It's part of the vows of marriage. The Scripture says, "For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother and cleave unto his wife, that the two of them shall become one flesh." It only marks the establishment of another branch of a family, not the destruction or separation of one.

MIl/FIL have just confirmed "for this reason, a man leaves father and mother and cleaves only unto his wife."
You honor them by becoming the grown=up they created you to be, even if it is not according to their sketch.
God's speed. I am sorry it is so painful.

Forsaking all others, when u get married ony means to agree/pledge not to commit adultery.

When you leave your parents and "cleave to thy husband" and the "two become one flesh" - the marriage is the sacred unit from then on. "Honoring" one's parents takes on a different meaning after one has left the parental roost. You can honor them without obeying them.

Priority is spouse. Therefore a man shall be separated from his father and mother and be joined to his wife and they shall become one flesh. Then you honor your parents as one person not as two separate person.

Jesus took it further

He said GOD comes before your Mother, Father, Son and Daughter.

He said NOTHING about your SPOUSE.

You are supposed to pick on, become one. Apparently your spouse is given a very high regard.
