Ok, im a senior in high school and i like a freshman girl. she is sort of shy and once i got her to open up we have been really good friends. the problem is i dont know if she likes me the way i like her, and her dad is my 8th grade history teacher. so ive asked her to a couple of dances but her parents wont let her go to them because they are too formal. however, i do know that she brings up conversation i have with her some way or another. im pretty sure that she might feel the same way with me as i do her. now she will come up and talk with me and i got her a xmas present and she really liked it. i gave her a xmas hug and it felt really good. one event throws me. earlier the day i gave her the present a kid was asking her who she liked and i was inches from both of them. he went around and she just said yes meaning as friends. but when he came to me, she sort of paused i made eye contact and said just as friends. was this what she reallly meant or is not. she prob wouldnt tellanyway

I got the same problem man. it sucks.. Just talk to her ask her.. open up to her.. if your good friends then you dont have anything to lose. Just talk to her family. and her dad.. and pray to god they like you and trust you... becarful on the physical side might get you in trouble. If all else fails.. just be her friend and if there is something really there then it will happen.
