I don't have access to a gym, nor do I have a neighborhood good for running in. What are some exercises recommended for a 14-yr-old hoping to make the most of her summer, and get fit for a season of cross-country? Thanks!

I prefer working out at home anyways.

You should build up your stanima and endurance. I like interval training. Basicaly you do 10 minuets of cardio, like dancing, jumping jacks, or running in place. then you do 5 min of weight training. like lunges and pushups. Then repeat. You will want to do lots os squats, lunges, plies, and stretching. You can find some great advice on internet web sites to espand your routines. change up your rotines every other week. Other wise your body will get used to the exercise and you won't see results. don't work the same body part every day. Do upper body one day, then legs the next. After all, you need a balanced rotine.

You can buy some cardio work out DVDs at wal mart. Like Denise Austines dance DVD. Or !0 minute solution" fat burning dance mix.

Eat foods that are natural to your body. Organic can be pricey! But buy salads with little drssing. You can eat pizza, if it hasvaggies and meat, wipe off the grease. Since you plan on being an athlete, you'll consume more meat and carbs then you regualarily do. conatact me if you want further advice! Good luck!

Just begin training jogging distance. At first jog/stroll, then you'll be able to begin going for walks the space, and over the years you'll be ready to get quicker. Stretch earlier than and do a pair sprints earlier than and after jogging distance. Make definite to drink tons of water. Good good fortune!
