there is no scientific thing as "race"

race is purely a social construct designed to classify people and was often used to justify colonialism, imperialism, and exploitation and subjugation of peoples

none of the so-called "races" have genetic markers for that "race".

there is, however, lots of variation in human genotypes and phenotypes, and that is just a natural result of human migration over the millenia

According to the Bible, all people today descended from the survivors of a great Flood - Noah's family, who in turn descentded from Adam and Eve (Gen 1:11). There are many stories, from many parts of the world, of a great Flood that only several people survived to repopulate the earth.
But today we have many different groups, often called "races" with what seem to be greatly differing features. The most obvious of these is skin color. Some see this as a reason to doubt the Bible's record of history. They believe that the various groups could have arisen only by evolving separately over tens of thousands of years. However, this does not follow from the evidence.
The Bible tells us how the population that descended from Noah's family had one language and were living together and disobeying God's command to "fill the earth" (Gen 9:1, 11:4). God confused their language, causing a break-up of the population into smaller groups, which scattered over the earth (Gen. 11:8-9). Modern genetics shows how, following such a break-up of a population, variations in skin color, for example, can develop in only a few generations. And there is good evidence to show that the various groups of people we have today have NOT been separated for huge periods of time.
One could say there is really only one race - the human race. The Bible teaches us that God has "made from one blood all nations of men" (Acts 17:26. Scripture distinguishes people by tribal or national groupings, not by skin color or physical features. Clearly, though, there are groups of people who have certain features (e.g.skin color) in common, which distinguish them from other groups. We prefer to call these "people groups" rather than "races," to avoid the evolutionary and racist connotations that have become associated with the word "race."
All peoples can intermarry and produce fertile offspring. This shows that the biological differences between the "races" are not great. In fact, the DNA differences are trivial. The DNA of any two people in the world would typically differ by just 0.2%. Of this, only 6% can be linked to racial categories; the rest is "withinrace" variation.
This genetic unity means, for instance, that white Americans, although ostensibly far removed from black Americans in phenotype, can sometimes be better tissue matches for them than other black Americans.

'' Science now corroborates what most great religions have long been preaching: Human beings of all races are descended from the same first man." -Heredity in Humans (Philadelphia and New York, 1972), Amram Scheinfeld, p.238.

''The Bible story of Adam and Eve. father and mother of the whole human race, told centuries ago the same truth that science has shown today: that all the peoples of the earth are a single family and have a common origin."-The Races of Mankind (New York 1978), Ruth Benedict and Gene Weltfish,p.3

Acts17:26:''[God] made out of one man every nation of men, to dwell upon the entire surface of the earth."

All life started in the middle east / Africa region. Proven by science and religion. When people migrated north and east their skinn became lighter becasue without the direct sunlight of living by the equater, their bodies no longer needed to produce the chemical melonin. (natural sun block) Living in different climates, with different food sources and different means by which to make a living and survive, traditions came about. People needed ways of managing mass groups of people so some areas were governed by religion and some by formal government. Race is not just the color of your skin but your way of living based on your geographic origin. So the answer is that races come from the different places and cultures created throughout man's existence.

First of all there is NO SUCH THING AS RACES... as Paul said in the Bible God made ALL of ONE BLOOD!!! There is NO skin color... we ALL have melanin (pigment) lots produces dark skin and less produces light skin
Genetics: No, they would probably be able to produce skin tones from white to black if they were med brown...

However the tower of BABEL explains the people groups splitting, poss inbreeding brings out different characteristics.

The difference between ANY 2 people 0.12% the differences between "racial" characteristics... .006 of that .12%

NO DIFFERENCE.

You can get a book called The Answers Book from here www.beginningingenesis.com... or a book/dvd called ONE BLOOD goes over the topic clearly and deeper.

Yes. I recently saw a chart showing how two dominant and two recessive genes could theoretically produce all of the races in a single generation. I'm not saying that they did, but they could. And the races had to spring from Noah if the Ark story was literal. But that's one that I'm not prepared to fight for. I'll wait till they find that ark again that someone saw in 1953.

Color was actually a survival mechanism which enabled God's creation to continue living on earth safely and to reproduce without being killed off by the environment they lived in. It is part of the evil in human nature and ignorance in us that has made it more than what it is. God said all the thoughts of man were evil and it grieved him to have made them. You can see what he meant. Instead of recognizing color as a survival tool we have made it out to be negative. There are even race seperatists that exist in neighborhoods, religions, schools, family etc. God also say we suffer from lack of knowledge. So not knowing any better we came up with the word race.

They were probably had brown skin. There have been cases in which two African-Americans have had a caucasian child, and two caucasians have had a child with brown skin. Adam and Eve likely were a mix, and bc their genes were perfect and God is a creative God, they probably had a large amount of variety in them, so as time has passed and groups of ppl have separated and become localized, different skin tones have developed.

IF you believe in the creation of Adam and Eve than you believe that God is the creator of all things? The whole race thing is no longer an issue. If God can create Adam from clay he can create whites blacks whatever....

Maybe, but Noah must have.

We don't know if there even WERE different races in the beginning. We DO know that everyone spoke the same language until the tower of babel. So either all the races spoke the same laguage, or there was only one race.

In the end, I don't suppose it really matters.

Interestingly, the answer comes from science. We hear about DNA from CSI and the news. Less frequently mentioned is a unique marker known as mDNA which is unique to women. Using mDNA, geneticist have now traced humankind back to what they consider to like the 3rd or 4th generation. With a hint of whimsy, they called the woman Eve. From there they have traced humanity in its various dispersions toward the East, transcauscasion, and africa. While they can type the genetic mDNA of these migrations, I have not heard of a reason for the genetic differentiation.
