good job! He knows that you are in control and in his dog instincts when the leader starts eat then the other dogs will start to eat (meaning him). Good job for letting him know that you are in charge, which means you are a good dog owner, be proud!!!

You have obviously shown the dog who is in charge of the pack. Our dog also does not eat until we start to eat breakfast or dinner. When the alpha dog (you) eats, it is then OK for the other dogs in the pack to eat also.

they usually all do that and that means they are letting you know you are the alpha of the pack and it is always the leader who eats first. then there is another reason, you may have been putting her/ his food to him at the same time you were starting to eat yours and that is now a habit with your pet. lt is great to have company to eat with.
