I am still not getting it. Allwaysynch does not work because the transfer keeps being over ridden by user, I do not get a warning message so i have no clue what program is blocking it.

"Look for *.WAB thats the file extension for windows address books. Copy it onto a flash / finger / floppy drive then transfer it over to the other computer" I found the file but if i put two of them on my new computer what will happen to the old data that is in the old wab file?

"address book, under file, use> EXPORT WAB..save to a location for backup.. then on the other PC, in address book, >file , use IMPORT - WAB " I am runing xp professional and do not seem to have that optoin or any other that seems to work correctly.

so far the only thinkg I came up with was moving it as a word file. but that seems kind of usless as I have about 25 Distribution List's and hand entering the names to outlook would take a bit of time.

I found a backwards way to do it. I drag the list to an email, mail it to myself then on my nes computer I have to drag it to the contacts. Pain in the butt and it does not help with being able to work on both computers. I need a way to be able to synk the two computers once a month. thanks

Both of those suggestions are great, you can also use the export feature on the desktop outlook, save it on whatever storage device you choose, like a flash drive (gotta love those gadgets) and then import to your laptop.

If you are going to move everything, try this freeware software I found called; Allwaysynch.

Pretty easy really. Good Luck!

do a search of your hard drive. Look for *.WAB thats the file extension for windows address books. Copy it onto a flash / finger / floppy drive then transfer it over to the other computer.

Easy!...go to your address book, under file, use> EXPORT WAB..save to a location for backup.. then on the other PC, in address book, >file , use IMPORT - WAB ( from that saved location)..should work fine

U hv to use the export function for the movement of addresses, contacts etc... save it on a removable media and then do the transfer. On the new destination cpu, just do an import of the contacts that u saved on the removable media.

Your superb, and in all probability least puzzling way. may well be to backup your outlook to a PST record, and then on the hot computer import an identical .PST record. in case you have created folders interior the inbox besides the shown fact that that up and that they are going to all return with their contents

Try Activesync. It's a Microsoft download for syncronizing your PC with a mobile computer like a palm pilot, but it might work for your laptop too
