I got married in the fall. You could....
have your colors black and white (very eligant and your safest colors, so many things you can get to match and no "shade" matching) Have red roses as your accent, BEAUTIFUL!!! To save on money, you could have your family be the photographers, and also set a disposable camera on each table for the guests to take pics as well.

Please get a real photographer I don't want to hear another wedding horror story. Yes supplement the professional with family and friends but, get a pro for a small shoot at least.I used the Holiday Inn for everything and it worked great it is also a new Holiday Inn so everything was still nicely decorated and not dated.
To make it more unique throw out the guest book and leave cards for the people to sign in with request that your guest write well washings or words of advice in the inside and have them seal them you can read them later or if you have time pull a couple out between speeches ( after screening them first and read them out for everyone to share.) After wards keep them in an album so you can read them again on anniversary's. Also decorate according to theme and colours of course you and your new spouse will be there that will make it very unique on its own.

I am also planning a fall wedding. My ideas so far are sunflowers wheat stocks (I'm from Kansas). Fall leaves for the flower girl and for table decorations. I'm having my bridesmaids wear brown and each will carry a one large sunflower. You could also see is their is a place that rents out barns for reception sites in your area. Good Luck Amy

i am also planning a small somewhat inexpensive wedding. one thing to not leave out, if you can keep from it would be the photographer. my friend used that disposable camera idea and everyone took the cameras! i guess she wasn't specific on what they were for. but ...all of your memories will be saved with photos so why not make them at least semi-professional? you could get a photography student.
i am making my own table decorations.
clear glass bowls with water, rocks an floating candles sitting on a mirror with leaves placed around the bowl...or...
three candles of different height (one of your colors) and a ribbon tied around of another color.
you can find most of the materials at low prices at a dollar store and they could be fun to plan and make with your bridal party after a brunch!
have fun!!

Put disposable cameras on each table and that way you have some fun candid shots of the wedding and your sure to have most of the guest in at least one picture. Check out michaels and they usually carry fake fall leaves you can strew those around the tables with candles. Also a cute idea Get a heavy vase or decorative bucket and put tall sticks with lots of branches on them in it ( pussywillow is cute too ) . Then cut square sheets of paper and with ribbon attached them to the branches like ornaments, Make a pretty sign and stick it in the branches that says Your Wishes for the Bride and Groom . put some pens nearby and its like a guestbook but more intimate you can fancy it up with flowers and ribbons. need more help feel free to email me la_angel1986@sbcglobal.net

we had a fall wedding ceremony and had a pair of 'topic' issues. We gave out caramel apples as favors. Had carved out pumpkins with plant life in them for centerpieces and those mini pumpkins hollowed out with tea lights in them around the cake and on the top table. We offered some glittery fabric leaves from walmart and used them as table confetti. And we had fall leaves interior the bouquets. We had pots of dark fall colored mums interior the entranceway to the reception place and on the balcony outdoors. We additionally had fall leaf cupcake papers crammed with roasted almonds and cashews on the tables. i've got been to different fall weddings who used gords and cornicopias (sp?) and cornstalks yet we mandatory to stay faraway from the 'harvest' variety topic. Fall's an incredible time for a marriage however! :) Congrats on yours. :)

Get a videographer and a good one. He should have small wireless mikes that can be mounted on your lapel and her dress so that the audio is fully available. This will make a memory that if you view it once a year on anniversary will help keep magic alive many years.

You can have a picnic in the park, if you are near water there might be small cruise boats etc. Find a nice restaurant or plan other places.
