Get a new job.
You will be miserable if this is what you have to do in order to get a pay check

I think you might be reading the job requirement wrong.
To tell people the truth and be firm is not the same as being mean.
I cannot imagine a job that has a requirement of 'telling people off' (well unless you work at rent a center) being a good job.
Train for a career that you love where you can be yourself with your friends

What type of job necessitates being an a** hole and telling people off.
Since you posted this in Law Enforcement and Police, are you thinking of being a police officer?
Believe me, telling people off and being an a**hole will end your career quickly. It is much easier to be a person who gets along with people, you will get more cooperation from the people you are dealing with, and you will have less stress than people who act like an a**hole.

You sell your soul for a few pieces of gold.
Nobody is twisting your arm to sign up for a job like this. It is your own free will and volition. For what end? Certainly not for the good of mankind.
One signs up for a job in exchange for a fatter salary, prestige and getting to the top part of the totem pole.
Look around to see if someone is putting a gun on your head to be this person that you dont want to be. Lol.

Dont care about other peoples feelings. If you have to be an ****** then thats what you have to do. If they are your friends then they will understand. I've had a job where i had to be an ****** and people had to be ******* to me. The people just need to take it with a grain of salt and dont take it to heart.

No job is worth that and it's not the best way to accomplish any type of long term goals. Leadership demands setting examples, not the do as I say approach

Doesn't sound like a very good job. How long do you think you can be like that? Don't be mean just be honest.
