Sounds like it could be cystic acne which can be treated with antibiotics, tetracycline or other newer ones.
They are the worse for scarring also.
Make an appointment with your doctor for treatment. And stop picking at them.

Pimples are not always infection (white heads containing puss are infections). Sometimes its an immune reaction or a sensitivity reaction. Hormones (especially if you are growing), stress and sometimes something in the diet can cause this. DON'T try popping it if there is never any sign of puss... that will only make the skin more aggitated and take longer to heal from damage.
Benzoyl peroxide is for killing bacteria that cause infection, however it can be very hard on some peoples skin and cause scarring. Salysilic acid is to help reduce the inflammation (redness and puffiness), but some people are sensitive to it and it can make it worse.
Cortisone can be helpful to reduce the inflammation, and placing a hot wet cloth (especially if the water contains epson salts... not too hot! try bath tub temperature) can help reduce inflammation and bring an infection to the surface to be drained without squeezing (if there is an infection).
Sometimes, small amounts of ointments containing anibiotics can be helpful (like Triple-action Polysporin)... they are not as hard on your skin as benzoyl, and have different chemical action on the bacteria.
Also, remember that skin is very delicate and needs special care. Try using a cleanser for sensitive skin, avoid harsh soaps and products containing alcohol (like the astringents). Make sure it doesn't over dry, using a good quality facial lotion if necessary.
Sometimes when pimples from no infection occur, all your skin needs is reduced stress in your life, some tender love and care (treat it like its extra fragile), some anti-inflammatory, some hot soaks, and a few days to recover.
If it is really bad, you might also want to see a doctor (they can check for infection and also see if you have any complications with your skin type... that is the only way to get strong antibiotics or best medical treatment... sometimes they just give hormone treatment)
Wish you well ^_^

Pimples are fact of life.
Wash regularly with a mild unscented soap using a soft abrasive.
The kind used on infants is great. Use the cream on the entire area where the outbreaks occur, not just on the pimple. This will help reduce, but not eliminate, further outbreaks.
Don't tweak the pimples, they're deep and you'll just end up irritating the area more. Let them heal on their own.
If the acne is severe( ie. large "crop" that's puffy and painful to the touch), see your family doctor for a consultation before using more aggressive treatments like the snake oil J. Simpson is hawking.

I have an acne treatment that has won me the best answer better then thirty times. Often, the person who voted it the best answer was amazed at how well it worked, even those who had severe cases of acne. I'll copy and paste it below.
Use a hot compress on it (a washcloth, sponge, or anything that will allow you to apply moist heat to the area), and then use cool water to close the pores. Do the process over and over again, about five or six times. Use soap to wash the area, rinse it with warm water, blot off the excess water with a clean towel, and then treat it with an alcohol soaked cotton ball. It should be gone within five to six hours.
Here are some of the previous comments I cut and pasted from those who voted it as the best answer, (Copied and pasted as written. Capital letters seen are as originally answered)

I get those all the time, just leave it alone, I know it's tempting to want to mess with it but don't. Try using Clearasil face wash and there tinted/not tinted cream or proactive both of those things helped me get rid of almost all of my pimples including those big ones under the skin.

Ok. Simple. 1. Start using Noxzema, it works very well for me under the same situations. 2. Dont irritate it. Let it grow on its own and if you do squeeze it do not use your nails because by scratching yourself you are increasing irritation and spreading infection. 3. Wash it often throughout the day. Be generous with the noxzema and wash it off with a towel and scrub. Over time your problem will lessen. Its just a fact of life, sorry.

Talk to a dermatologist but you may need to take anti biodics, these are absessed acne boils. much harder to get rid of than white heads, youre right. Either way you should never pop them, causes scarring.

I had those alot too when I was a teenager. I suggest not messing with them because they will cause bad scars. I can suggest a great product that I wish I would've used as a teenager and it's proactiv. It's great! good luck

i get those too and the best thing is to just leave them alone. if you dont have sensitive skin you can try to put toothpaste on them, but i wouldnt have to say do not do it if you have sensitive skin, I did this and the next morning when I took the toothpaste off it took a layer of skin off.... ended up with a scab
