No your credit is SS# based. A couple of the other answers said that your credit will be combined with your husbands. That is incorrect. Your credit and scores will stay the same and so will his. If he has bad credit and you add yourself onto his negative accounts, then that would effect your rating or if you open new accounts jointly and you don't make payments, then of course that will effect your credit... Just because you marry someone with bad credit, doesn't mean that you get their bad credit, so don't be worried about that.

When you marry, you retain the same credit score because you are required to provide your social security number and it does not wash out because of name change. Of course it will be combined with that of your spouse.
