Okay they have the pups on their own usually. THey bust open the sacks the pups have lived in and clean the pups up . They feed the pups almost constently the first 48 hours. They also give bathes frequently this is to keep the circulation good and to allow the pups to potty as their muscles haven't developed enough to allow them to pooop and pee on their own. She will stay with her pups almost constintly prefering to be away for only the time it takes her to potty and eat. I always put my dogs s food in the room with the pups so she can watch them as she eats and drinks. SHe also protects them she doesn't allow any animals near her pups. She will teach them to play and hunt. Even though they are house dogs a lot of their play and rough housing is geared towards hunting they would have to do in the wild. SHe will nurse them for six to eight weeks then wean them. if they stay with her after that sh ewill continue to teac and play with them.

Do you really mean raise, or do you mean conceive? I'll assume you meant what you said.

The mama dog licks the puppies so they poop and pee while their eyes are still closed. This also comforts them and develops a bond between mother and puppy. Once their eyes are open, and they become more mobile, the licking and cuddling continues until they reach the hyper puppy stage. Then she will tolerate them most of the time, and nurse standing up, as part of the process of weaning. She will also nip at puppies that are being too rough, or knock them over. This teaches the puppies proper dog manners, and helps them learn their rank in the pack. Part of the ranking involves play fighting with littermates. They learn how to associate with other dogs during this time. Once the puppies are old enough, the mother dog will stop mothering, and will become just a much loved dog, usually dominant over her offspring.

I agree with all the answers posted here. A mama dog nurses her puppies just like what human beings do. In addition to the all the posted answers,
1) Mama dogs bring back a strayed puppy (crawling afar) by holding the pup's nape, then would comfort the crying & nervous pup by licking it all over, & would offer her nipples for the sought-after breast milk.
2) Mama dogs are very protective to her puppies; nobody except her owners / masters, could touch her newly born puppies until one month old.
3) Mama dogs share their dog-food wiith theiir growing up puppies. Generally, dogs don't share their food with other dogs.

Not exactly sure what information you need. The mama dog will nurse their pups. They will clean them and take vare of them for the first few weeks of their life. I am not going to write an essay for you.

after the mom give birth she feed them milk from her teats. and she will continue to do that as long as she lets them. then she will start feeding them game of sorts to feed them. unless of course it is a tame one then the dog will stop nursing the milk or the breeders will decide the right time then the breeders will introduce them to puppy food. that is the way it is done.
