to be precise... it depends on the nature of the "mad" person.
if he is egoist (and you want to be communicating with them), applogise (if you feel it was your mistake), else (if u feel it was not your mistake) tell him that to you the matter (which caused this problem) is not more important than him and tell him that you still have place for him in your heart, as always.
The other person... Mr. Semi-Unknow Reason... confront him, be straight ... very straight. If you dont get a positive response... to be honest, he is not worth being with.
Best of luck

Stay away from them for at least a week, maybe two then catch them one at a time and and have a frank open conversation with them start by asking what you did wrong and LISTEN to what they say. Once you know what they see as a problem then you can address it.

Ask them about something casual like school/work. If you don't see them at either of those places, send a big email to a lot of people asking a question and ask for a reply from all of them.

if they are your true friends then they will come to you with only a hint of apology. just tell them sorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry for any mistake you have committed. i think a hint will make them melt if they are your friends as friends are always eager to tie up with the friends they have fought.

Stay away until they've cooled down. They'll be back.
