Sounds like he still likes you. Perhaps he has come to realize what a wonderful person you are, or what a fool he was to let you go for no reason.
The question is what do you want? If you are over him and do not want to talk with him anymore then tell him. Ask that he respect his and your decision to call things off. Ask him why he is calling when he is the one who ended it.
