Just curious! I'm visiting NYC for the first time this coming weekend, and am open to suggestions on places to visit/eat/shop.

Thanks!

I1. The classic downtown skyline picture from the boardwalk in Brooklyn.

2. Ground Zero. It is a historical place that has defined a turning point in the country. In a few years, it will be completely different.

3. Its tough to narrow it down to three, but if you want something unique, go to the Cloisters at the top of Manhattan. Its beautiful up there and completely different from what anyone would expect from the city.

Here's a suggestion for a shop too - While you are in Soho, stop by Uniqlo. Its a Japanese shop now open in the US. Great prices and not your typical Gap or Banana Republic. Also, try H&M if you've never been in one. There are several in the city.

Times square because it is constantly changing and you can remember it for the way it was when you were there.

A picture from the top of the empire. It's a beautiful skyline shot at night, just make sure you have a decent camera.

Radio City Music Hall just because it has always and will always be famous. You could even get one of those shots from the street longways of the sign out front that goes up and down. Plus they tour that place often, although it's pretty dark inside, but a shot of the interior stage area would be awesome too!

Have fun!

Ground Zero- because there will be huge buildings there in a few years for you to compare.
Go to the "Top of the Rock" in Rockafeller Center and Take pic of Central Park from there.
Statue of Liberty if you can get close enough.
Trump Towers Lobby, The Flatiron Building, Empire State Building and much more, OH Yes Little Italy also.

a picture taken from the deck of the Staten Island Ferry as it approaches lower Manhattan preferably at night . To your left is the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island , directly in front of you is the greatest city in the world and to your right is Roeblings masterpiece ; The Brooklyn Bridge and beyond that the other East River bridges wearing their catenary necklaces of light a truly amazing sight
A picture of Yankee Stadium - if anything personifies NY it's the Yankees
A picture of the bronze bull on lower Broadway
A picture of the take-out counter at Zabars- 80th and Broadway
That basically covers the major passions of New Yorkers , with the exception of the Arts

Take a full roll of film or two. Save the hassle.

Otherwise: Times Square, Statue of Liberty, Wall Street, Empire State Building, MTV Building, etc.

One place I would definately visit would be Statue of Liberty. Also I would have to go to Manhattan to see the great shops. Then I'd hit Broadway and maybe take in a broadway show. Definately try some authentic NY style pizza. Its delicious, or at least that's what I have heard.
