they're quite new and productive (they already had 2 sets of babies). the female is yellow, and the male is violet. now, everytime they're going to have a baby, of course, its a mix of their colors, but there are babies which are white and red-eyed.
My problem now is, the mother always attacks her babies who are white. She's already killed one, and now, she has attacked one again.
What's wrong with her? is there a scientific basis to this? or is the mother just plain violent?

help please! thanks!!

Many animals that are albino are killed by other members or abandoned. They are not desirable because they are too different. They are not viewed as genetically suitable. it is a survival of the fittest thing. Albinos are weaker, have difficulty with sun exposure. How about hand raising the one that is being rejected? Just an idea. There are hand raising formulas and material to help you learn how. It is time consuming. Weigh out the pros and cons. You will know what to do. Have a great year.

She recognizes what you don't. The bird is an albino, defective, and is unhealthy with genes that are prone to reproduce and thus weaken the string. Don't try to raise the defective birds. Get rid of them. They should not ever, if they mature, be bred.

she is probably thinking that the baby is an intruder considering that it's an albino. She doesn't see a realtive in color so she attacks because she doesn't know this 'stranger'

Separate the babies away from the parent as soon as you see signs of this, she is trying to move them out of her territory to have more babies. Please dont risk the babies lives again by keeping them all housed together.

in this case you will have to separate the babies from the parents and hand-feed them...which is not so easy...
