it s ok...and normal...mine are 10 and 7...and they drive me nuts...they are my grandsons ...i am raising them...but as long as you dont allow them to fist fight and let them know that as brothers they have to respect each other...they might not listen for now...but when they get a bit older...especially the 7 yr old it'll get better...im sure the 13 yr old is annoyed by the 7 yr old? hopefully it will get better....mine would probably want to beat each other...but they respect each other...they have to....i always tell them when they are older they will always look for each other and want to hang out together with girls..... and sometimes they actually talk about room mating...but in the mean time they still get on each others nerves...it'll be ok....as long as they dont hit each other....its ok that they occasionally argue...its normal...so be cool mom....itll be ok....good luck

This is normal -- esp. with the age difference. When they're older they'll be great pals, but in the meantime I know it's hell on your nerves because it's still quite a number of years away before they begin to appreciate each other and get along better. You can lay some ground rules: no screaming or hitting or calling each other horrible names. If they want to mix it up and argue, that's fine, but they have to be civil about it. Tell them that they are not allowed to disrupt the whole household with their disagreements. If either violates that, they have to lose a privilege. Also, you might think of a project that they could work on together -- build something? Or, is there something the 13-y.o. could teach the 7-y.o. how to do? Either of those things might help them interact constructively, at least for a while. Good luck!

They are far enough apart (in age) for your younger son to be driving the older one up a wall! Hopefully the fighting will stop as the boys get older, but for now I don't think there's much you can do except remind them that they are brothers and they should be nice to each other. That never worked with me and my little sister, but we are best friends now that we are getting older, so it's probably just a temporary thing. (Don't get me wrong, we still fight like cats and dogs, we're just nicer about it.)

Give them both a shot of whiskey when they get home from school. A good stiff drink always calms my nerves after a hard day's work.

Be careful though, because they might be "mean drunks." In that case, just give them sleeping pills and tell them it's some "X" you brought from that skinny black-rim glasses kid down the street.

Its normal for boys to fight and this is away of resolving issues. My brothers fought like crazy. If it gets that bad just separate them until they work out their differences.Never take sides.Need to be impartial.

That's a little too violent of a comparison. I doubt they play with knives and dynamite and stuff it down each others throat. Were you even asking a question?!?!

Awwwww, isn't that nice that they love one another like brothers that age do? Breathe, it's normal. Unless there's an injury, let them "get along" just like they do. It'll pass.

If they can't solve their problems peacefully, then it is your job as a parent to do it for them.
