I am currently healing a pinched sciatic nerve in my back without surgery. I take Malox coated aspirin (Ascriptin) to reduce inflammation. Ice my back for 20 minutes 3-5 times daily and take Dramamine when I go to bed. Dramamine is one of the best muscle relaxers.
I also have to do exercises daily of laying on a flat surface, like a floor or table and lifting my knees to my chest slowly and exercising those back muscles.
It is working....but it is a slow process. It will likely take 4-6 weeks before the pain stops spreading over my hips and down the front of my legs.
Good Luck.

If you're sure that is what it is - a massage therapist (make sure they are licensed) is the ticket! There are exercises you can do as well, chiropractors can help adjust your spine and if you can get to an acupuncturist or acupressure (again, licensed) I think you will find a lot of relief and not have to have surgery or take a lot of medications.
Hope you feel better soon!

I would definitely try a chiropractor. They can work wonders. I've been seeing one off and on for 20 yrs. Ask around and find one that's reputable.

Have you seen a chiropractor? You can try that and try a massage therapist.
