Wisdom teeth erupt between the ages of 16 to 21. Alot of teens have wisdom teeth that are impacted, meaning there's just no jaw space left in the arch for them to erupt into. Some wisdoms facing the 2nd molars, it looks like a sideways tooth on the Xray.
Symptoms vary, most people have these teeth out before any symptoms exhibit themselves. The most common symptom is jaw or ear pain that comes and goes.

most people do have to have thier wisdom teeth taken out. usually an x-ray from the dentist can tell for sure. if there isnt enough room for the wisdom tooth to come in, it will cause crowding, which can make all of your teeth become crooked. it can be painful, you might have a stiff jaw, earaches, headaches, in this case, its probally necissary to have them taken out.
