Been there, buddy! I'm a girl and my whole team has gone through that terrible sweat smelly-ness! Anyway, after every game, I toss my Nike knee pads straight into the washer. Inside out or not, it gets the smell out and it doesnt ruin the material. I don't know what kind of knee pads you have, but I'm sure they wont get killed if you toss them in. I mean, they're on your knees for in case you have to go for the dive so I'm sure that is harsh on the material anyway. Then after being in the wash with tons of laundry detergent, I toss them straight into the dryer if I need them again the next day. It doesn't kill it at all.
If you're on a tournament, bring a can of febreze. It covers the odor long enough after each game until you can toss them back into your bag and shower.

Baby powder is such a great way to keep your knee pads smelling better than sweat. The key though is as soon as you are done playing, take them off, flip them inside out, sprinkle them with baby powder or febreeze and put them over an air vent- just keep them outside of warm, dark areas- like your gym bag. If you need to put it into your bag, be sure to put them in the part of the bag that has mesh - if not, put in a fabric softener. Not only will the baby powder help your smelly knee pads, it will help keep the chaffing on the back of your knees down.

They can be washed in an industrial washing machine like what you would find in a laundromat. These washers are most often upright, and do not have agitators in the center of the barrel.
Let them dry out after you wear them.

You can wash them in a normal washing machine. I don't remember if you can put them in a dryer, but to be on the safe side, just air dry them.

try sprinkling some talcum powder in there before u put them on, that might help to soak up some of the sweat which is causing the odor, or u could try odor eater stuff they have for shoes...yes they should be machine-washable too

After wearing them turn them inside out to air dry. The back elastic cotton strap traps the sweat inside if you don't.
Leave them inside out until you next have to play.

You need something that absorbs odors, not covers them up. Use Febreze - they even have an antibacterial one - it works on cigarette smoke, so it should work on sweat.
