The world's largest cruise ship, in terms of gross tonnage (which is how they measure these things anyway) is Royal Caribbean International's "Freedom of the Seas" (soon to be joined by its sister ships "Liberty of the Seas" and "Independence of the Seas"). In terms of length and width, however, Cunard Line's "Queen Mary 2" takes the cake since it is both longer and wider than Freedom of the Seas (and only about 6,000 gross tonnes less; Freedom is around 154,000 and QM2 is about 148,000). The Queen Mary 2 is still the world's largest ocean liner (there are certain differences between an Ocean Liner and Cruise Ship).

Rumors abound about the next "megaship" classes to enter into service in the next decade or so. Royal Caribbean has confirmed plans for it's "Genesis Class" ships, which will come in at least 200,000 tonnes. Princess and Carnival are both rumored to be coming up with new classes of even bigger and better ships, though for the time being they seem focused on building more "Grand/Diamond Class" and "Conquest Class" ships for their respective fleets.

There are actually two answers to this. Cunard Cruise Line's Queen Mary 2 is the longest cruise ship (1,132 ft), but Royal Caribbean's Freedom of the Seas is the heaviest (160,000 tons). I guess it really depends on what you mean by "largest".
