Nope. 20% of INdia's population is Muslim. They understand INdia. Sikhs living in INdia understand India.
Have you visited India? If so, where have you been? To understand the true India, you have to visit the villages and take interest in the customs and way of living.
India is pretty easy to understand once you spend some time with the people. The problem is that it's so vast, so culturally diverse. You'll have to visit every state to understand all of INdia, because every state is like another country. The language changes every 100 miles. If you've only been to the "big cities", you haven't seen India yet.

Rubbish Question ! Can you tell me what does 'A French Woman ' Mean ? How can she know such a thing when as per her laid observation she should be a hindu to understand INDIA. Because without understanding INDIA one cannot come to such a conclusion.
And just because she is french doesnt mean we have to give importance to her sayings. I too am hindu and proud to say all the rationally thinking 'good' people from all the communities have contributed to INDIA's well being, whereas those trying to say a particular community or caste has more understanding of INDIA are all anti social elements and they too come from all the communities not just one.
In short whoever loves his/her country is more important than his caste as he/she have got their caste from birth and not by choice whereas love and understanding for ones country comes from heart.
Long Live INDIA.

Since this comment is coming from a French women, what exactly she wants to convey is not clear. We have to assume so many things and one of my assumption is that she did face some problem in India may be something related to Hindu mythology. To be frank more than 90% of the Hindu's are illiterate as far as their religion is concerned. Whereas Indian Muslims are having a better knowledge of Hinduisam in general. So I do not agree with your question.

I am an Indian and a Hindu. But I don't agree. Yes, if you want to know the nuances of the Hindu way of life you have to have experience of the daily lifestyle of Indians. But a workable understanding of Hinduism requires only immense interest in the Hindu way of life, not living in India.
P.S. : India is comprised not only of Hindus, but Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Jews, Parsis, Jains and people of a plethora of other religions too!

She's all wet. India has many religions, and if you want a religion, Hindu is as good as any -- but no better. To properly understand India, it would require at least some understanding of all of its major religions. (Which I cannot claim to have.)

I AM A INDIAN HINDU BUT IT IS NOT NECESSARY THAT U SHOULD BE A HINDU TO UNDERSTAND INDIA . INDIA HAS MANY RELIGIONS SO IT DOESN'T MATTER. FOR EXAMPLE U TAKE ABDUL KALAM , HE IS THE PRESIDENT OF INDIA BUT A MUSLIM AND I AM SURE HE HAS UNDERSTOOD INDIA WELL AND THUS IS THE PRESIDENT..............................
