I looked for the answer to this question myself, and here are some things I came up with. My cravings tend toward salty instead of sweet.

-One bowl of popcorn
-A couple of pretzels and a small can of tomato juice
-Tuna salad made with fat free Miracle Whip, chopped up celery and onions, Egg Beaters (cooked like scrambled) to replace the hard boiled egg. And eat it on a tomato or by itself instead of on bread.
-A yougurt smoothie made with lo-fat yogurt, skim milk, some fruit and a piece of ice whipped up in a blender
-One piece of whole-grain toast and a glass of orange juice
-any fruit or raw vegetable

Hope this helps!

Rice cakes, Vegitables (carrots, Broccolli) fruits. Those are healthy. Vegitables and especially fruits, are converted into energy a lot quicker which gives you a quick boost of energy. Just eat healthy stuff. If you eat processed foods like chips, crackers, and cookies too often you're going to gain weight. But you also have to exercise. You're body turns you're food into glucose (sugar). It stores it in your system and if you don't burn it up by exercising, you'll have to much sugar in your body which eventually will make you gain weight. Eat what you want, but go run around the block and burn it off. The more muscle mass you have the easier it is to eat as much as you want. The more you build your muscle mass, the more you burn fat, even when you're not exercising at that moment. It's all in moderation.

I struggle with this problem as well. If you are able to eat things in proportion, have an apple and a spoonful of peanut butter. No cooking required! Or an apple and cottage cheese. Both of these provide protein and fiber, and the cottage cheese is much lower in fat. I also eat beef jerky and triscuits for snacks. Beef jerky is surpisingly low in calories (but very high in sodium if that bothers you) but I find it to be a great low-calorie high protein food.

I eat a whole cucumber when I'm hungry. Its big, full of water, and filling and I put some Kraft Light Done Right Dressing-Three Cheese Ranch and it fills me right up with very minimal calories. Bananas are another filling low cal food. Make a BLT with turkey bacon and whole wheat bread. Nice low cal sandwich with lettuce and tomato. Dont forget low calorie mayo.

There are lots of healthy meals you can make; a stir fry (see grocery stores frozen foods section with the packets that say "stir fry vegs". Take that packet, put it in a pan with a little (quarter size) olive oil and once the veggies are defrosted by putting them on medium heat, you can add anything like cooked chicken (broiled, very simple) or fish (broiled salmon, very simple and very good for you).

Salads with olive oil and vinegar or oil and lemon juice. Fresh organic veggies that you lightly blanche (dip in boiling water for a very short time) are great.

For snacks, apples, carrots, bananas, etc.

The best thing to eat as a snack when you are watching your weight is an apple followed by a big glass of water or two... extremely filling and only about 70 calories!

You know what the best thing for weight loss is? Believe it or not peanuts. Nibble on peanuts whenever your on the go.They are known for their appetite suppressing qualities and are full of essential fatty acids which help rebuild muscle tissue. Also apples are good for your digestion. Have 2 -3 of them a day and you will notice a difference straight away - your energy levels will improve and your skin and eyes will look clearer. Good luck!:)

you don't have to make anything, just cut up some fruit and vegetables. they are relatively low in calories (go to calorieking.com to check if you're counting), taste great (which is obvious with fruits, but maybe not so with vegetables. i like carrots, tomatoes, and bellpeppers), have fiber and water to fill you up, AND vitamins!
