Don't know the name of religion. . . but in another country (they wear long robes and face skarfs) there is a group that will walk down the streets lashing their backs with leather whips to the point of their skin cutting open and bleeding. The ladies will clench their fists and hit their face. I don't understand that and find it very disturbing.

For me it's not the religion but instead, what people do with their religion. Do they take from it spiritual sustenance, love and virtue or is it a cause for hatred and warring?
