I take it out of the can, put it in a pot on the stove, add salt and pepper and when it's just about hot, I add some butter and a little bit of milk to it. That's it. Happy eating!

I prefer Mannings Hominy in a can. It is thick. Others are packed in water. Drain the water first. I like to cook up some patty sausage, then add the grits and fry them in the sausage grease. LOL making me hungry. I live in Costa Rica >>> no SAUSAGE let alone Hominy no grits either.

Hominy Corn Porridge
INGREDIENTS :
1 Cup Hominy Corn

3-5 cups water
3 tablespoons flour
6 tablespoons water
1/2 tsp. salt
brown sugar to taste

Drain the water from the corn
Pour the Hominy corn in the pot with the coconut milk.
Mix the 3 tablespoons of flour and 6 tablespoons of water together to make a paste.
Pour the flour and water paste in to the pot and mix
Sweeten with sugar to taste
Add vanilla to taste (Optional)
Stirring constantly to prevent lumping.
Sprinkle nutmeg to taste
Continue cooking and let it simmer over low heat.
Cook for about 10-15 Min's. then serve.

Depends if it's whole or ground up. Whole you can make cassaroles, mix it with other veggies, ground up if it's course you make grits or Posole, ground fine like a flour you can make dough which is Latin culture's Masa
