When something is on sale as 4 for $3 or something like that, do you buy the 4 or you buy just one?

For me, if it's something that I can keep (like chicken broth or canned tomatoes), I will buy the full amount of items at the sale price. But if it's fresh vegetables or something I will only use once or have for a long time (like peanut butter), I will only buy one.

It's a marketing ploy, if you look at the newspaper ads when they do that they always put 2 or 3 etc. of the Item in there to fill up the ad space, you only have to buy what you need, but hey, you never know when you'll need 10 cans of cranberries or 4 loaves of bread for $2.00

I've never shopped in a store where you have to buy the number advertised (4 for a dollar, for example) to get the discount. If you bought one at four for a dollar, it would cost 25 cents. I've never seen it otherwise, but if is something that you can stock up on, you may as well buy four (or even more!)

I dont know your question.

I will take a swing at it though.

Most veggitables will keep for along time in the freezer.

List of veggitable you CANT put in the freezer
Onions,Celery,Garlic and eggplant.
Anything else is freezable. And if its sealed, it will keep for ever. When i cleaned out my grandfathers house i found a jar of peanutbutter behing the fridge that was dated 9-6-89 and its still good.
The date on the jar donst mean its bad. Its just the date the FDA days needs to be on it.

Butter is something else that you can freeze and it'll last forever.
The farm fresh stuff like milk and eggs wont keep in the freezer.
From expereance dont freeze eggs or youll be cleaning egg yolk for years.Anyway, I keep food forever. A place near my home has 10for10 sales and i buy 10 bottles of katchup and it might llast me a year, and its still good.

It depends on the store policy. Some make you purchase all 4 items to get the deal and others will let you purchase 1 item and still receive the discounted price.

My Safeway lets me buy whatever amount I need, and if it's on sale, even a few cans will still be rung up at the sale price.

Sounds like your right on. I do the same thing. There is to much waste in this world to begin with, so why add to it. And why waste those precious hard earned dollars also. Thumbs up to ya!!!
