process? If a baby develops on it's own, why can't the first humans do it only in a different environment?

I think I understand what you're getting at, but it's kind of a false analogy. Reproduction doesn't really parallel with evolution in the way you're trying to paint here.

But feel free to try again. I think there's the seed of a really good idea in there.
