Everytime I have ever had a glucose test, I was told not to eat AT ALL before the test. That means eat and drink nothing.

Hmmm. This is confusing. I had to do a one hour glucose while pregnant (this was very recently) and I was told I didn't need to do anything to prepare. I was able to just walk in, drink the glucose and give blood an hour later. Then they asked me to return for a 3 hour test. For that one I was told to load up on carbs for the three days before the test and then 10 hours before the test I had to fast. I wasn't allowed anything except water.
If this test was ordered for you then the docs should have given you some kind of instruction and a paper with a list of appropriate foods. If I were you I'd call and ask.

You'll want to stay away from fruit and fruit juices, and breads or starches, as well as the sugar if they told you to stay away from sugars. Because all the above contain them. Perhaps they meant just stay away from raw sugar or concentrated sugar? If thats the case then stay away from candy, soda, and sugar in the coffee, the rest of the foods above should be fine in that case. Otherwise that would leave meat. Make yourself some sausage and eggs for breakfast. For lunch have the ham or turkey slices without the bread and a small salad with oil and vinegar. Good luck to you.

Reschedule the test for first thing in the morning. You can't eat anything 12 hours before a test.

I was told no food the day of the test....
You may want to recheck the orders for the test so you don't mess up the results....
I am a mom to 3 and have had the test 3 times.

You can't eat anything 12 hours before you test. I don't even think you're not even supposed to drink water. I know it's hard, but you'll just have to toughen up. I was devestated when they told me. What gives them the right to tell a prego lady not to eat lol.

You need to call your doctor to clarify! Call the hospital's main number if you can't reach your doc and ask for them to transfer you to someone who answer that. I only had to fast for one hour for mine, but you may be getting another version of the test that requires longer.
