I can tell you the answer to this by answering it with another question.
Q: If a tree falls in the woods, does it make a sound?
Most people would answer yes. Why? Because sound is made up of vibration, which is movement of the air. Therefore, a tree falling moves the air, causing vibrations= sound.
The reason people find it so hard to answer is because of lack of evidence and distrust in your own beliefs.
It's like asking, if we can't see god, is he real?
Well, do you believe?
Sometimes we don't have enough evidence, but we have more than enough reason to believe in something, even if there's no one present to witness an event.
