A four years old male child's penis is still in it's infant ages and more sensitive than that of an older male. It is very likely that the mere contact against clothing, or the change in temperature is causing an erection.
Hope this helps,
Ken

Hey not to worry, as aparent of two young sons I have often witnessed this happen also. Actually what is happening is a reaction that I have dubbed the "pee-pee" reaction (sorry, its the best I could come up with). This is caused when air hits the penis in young boys and it triggers this erection. Remember when your son was an infant and diaper changing time could often lead to an unexpected golden shower?
Well, just thank goodness he's old enough now to control the peeing part...(lol)! And eventually those erections will not happen as they are now. My oldest son is six and my youngest is four, so apparently this phenomenon decreases between the ages of 5-6. However once he reaches @14-16 these erections may return and he will be fully dressed!

According to the Kinsey report a baby boy can & will get erections while still in the womb. Does that mean he's being "aroused"???
I wouldn't worry about his erection. This is normal and won't be the last time you discover him like that. I'd discuss it with his daddy... you might learn a few things about men & the penis. ;)

NO, it is normal. He has no control over it, an erection for him is just an increased supply of blood to his penis. He has no concept of sex his brain is not wired up for it just yet.
The cool air on his penis can cause sensations on his skin and is just a reaction. Even developed males get erections when they least thinking about sex sometimes the motion of a car or bus can cause it. It is not all about arousal.

He's getting them because he's a male!
Trust me, it doesn't take much to make the soldier stand at attention...any 13-16 year guy can tell you that.
Don't worry too much about it. It's probably just the friction and movement of the clothing that's causing his buddy to swell up with pride.
It's not sexual arousal, but manual stimulation (however unintentional).

Why doesn't your Penis get hard anymore? I know how you feel. Could be a lot of reasons why you're incapable of getting an erection. This will help you get your feeling/erections back. https://bitly.im/aMAUy Works like a charm. Good luck.

Heavens, no. As a mother of 4, 3 of them boys, I can tell you that it is completely normal for them to frequently have erections. It is nothing sexual at all. Just a common occurance when they feel relaxed. You have nothing to worry about. :)

This is crazy for a mother to worry over! Males get erections for many reasons, cold air, but NOT from having to pee! Don't worry over this, its nothing, he's only 4. My goodness!!!

At that age he has no thought or even a clue about sexual things. Before you change his clothes have him pee first. That should solve the problem.

Not in the sense that you probably mean. It's just a natural reaction to being touched.
