installing windows xp on a hard drive that has never had anything on it, when its done doing the diagnostics and installs temp files for installing the xp process, instead of continuing with installation the computer says"15 seconds til reboot" normally it would continue installation at this time. it does not it starts the process all over.. what am i doing wrong?

Take out your CD when it reboots,.

after it restarts don't boot from the CD again, in your BIOS make sure the first boot is CDROM, then second is your hard drive.

When it first reads the CD it says to boot from the CD press any key, then it "..."s until four dots I think, then It skips to the next boot device, which should be your hard drive. The first time, you press a key and start the installation, then when it restarts to continue the installation don't press any keys and let it boot from the hard drive to finish the installation. Keep your CD in the drive though, since it still needs it.
