Well, atheists feel the same about the New Testament as they do about The Lord of the Rings. It's a good story, but that's all it is.
Just because a book says something, doesn't make it so.

Yes I have read the New Testament. A rather boring work of fiction. The scriptures you quote are merely words of men with the intent of control. No words of any god, not even devinely inspired but simply words of men.

Great scriptures! But Jesus said only those chosen by God will come to Him and believe. So don't be surprised by all of the insults you are getting from them. Good message.

I think that the fact that you see this as some sort of proof of your religion shows that believers can not tell the difference between evidence, an argument, or persuasion.

Well, as an atheist I don't take scripture as seriously as you do, so I don't think much of that at all. No book written by man could make me think differently.

Since we're quoting, I've got a quote here that has as much authority as yours.
"If I wanna take a guy home with me tonight It's none of your business. And she wanna be a freak and sell it on the weekend
It's none of your business. Now you shouldn't even get into who I'm givin' skins to. It's none of your business.
So don't try to change my mind, I'll tell you one more time It's none of your business"

I think those words must you feel awfully self-righteous and superior.
But since the bible is a book of fairy tales, I can't take anything in it too seriously.

Don't you realize that only works if people believe in your holy book already?
Stop with the circular logic, you're just proving theists are ignorant of basic logic.

It only proves that the Bible makes Christianity a convenient self-supporting system... that anyone who doesn't accept the claims contained within, they are branded as "wicked" or "evil" or not willing to accept the "truth".
That's what cults do.

I've read it and the Old Testament several times. You'll find similar quotes in other religion, so what is your point?
