my boyfriend of a year and a half decided that we should take a break and just not be so serious for awhile becuase we have been fighting ever since he met this other girl.. well the day he broke up with me for this "break" he asked this other girl out and now hes telling me sorry and that he wants to break up with her and figure things out with me but he still wont break up with this girl, he keeps saying tomorrow i will and then he doesnt, his new girlfriend and him rarely ever talk and he calls me more than her and i told him to stop and talk to her.
I really want to be with him becuase i want to spend the rest of my life with him and he knows how i feel, do i just give him space and let him be with her or what do i do ??? im confused...

At this point, I would walk out with your dignity in tact and tell HIM to take a hike. Don't let him call the shots anymore and you be the one to take a stand and break things off with him. Believe me, you'll find someone that will appreciate you more then he does!

Why would you want to spend the rest of your life with a two timing slug like that? Read the book "He's just not that into you" - If he really liked you, you would have never broke up in the first place and he wouldn't have asked a girl out on the same day. He moves quick btw. Give yourself some credit. You deserve someone who wants to be with you and gives you their full attention. Not some guy who says he wants to date you but won't break it off with the other girl. Do you realize that he's probably telling her the same exact thing that he's telling you?

I'm in a similar situation; if its meant to be it will happen. Don't push him because you will make him resent you. After people break up with you the next person they almost always talk to or get with is the rebound. Although the rebound can last for sometime its usually not permanent. Just leave him alone for a while (maybe a month or so). If he really wants you back he will leave her alone on his own; if not then he wasn't good enough for you anyways. We women (i did say we) need to realize that in this world we should never come second to any other female when it comes down to a man that sincerely loves us (excluding mothers,sisters,daughters, etc.) A real man knows who he wants to be with in life and will make that decision.

Ugh. Don't. He just wants you to be on the back burner! This way he can go smoozing around with other girls knowing that if he's stuck, you'll be there waiting. Forget it! You have better things to do then be his spare tire! Please don't put yourself through all the hurt that will come from waiting for him. If he won't make the commitment and reak up with that other girl to talk to you, then no deal!
