Since the US rank structure was given, I'll give you the Canadian one, just in case you want it too.

Private
Private (Trained)
Corporal
Master-Corporal
Sargent
Warrant Officer
Master Warrant Officer
Chief Warrant Officer

Officer Cadet (Appointment, technically outranked by a private if coming straight form the civvy streets)
Second Lieutenant
Lieutenant
Captain
Major
Lieutenant-Colonel
Colonel
Brigadier-General
Major-General
Lieutenant-General
General

It is impossible to answer your question. The rank structure does not have the word "threw" in it.

I've never been in the Army, (I have been THROUGH, some of their excellent schools).

there are different rank systems for enlisted men, Warrant officers and commissioned officers. A commissioned officer outranks a warrant, and any warrant outranks an enlisted man.

Ranks for enlisted: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Army_enlisted_rank_insignia

Ranks for warrant officers: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warrant_Officer#Insignia

And Commissioned officers:
