If you buy your laptop from the Mainland, you'll have a problem in that the Windows disc they give you will be the Chinese version. You'll have to shell out extra money for an illegal copy or BIG money for a legal copy in English. Also, on the Mainland, they cheat people out of things like RAM, Hard drives combo drives, and other removables. They will take the good stuff out and replace it with cheap stuff before selling it to you. Better if you go to Hong Kong where you will get what the computer box says you should get inside and they will probably have a legal copy of English langauge Windows to go with it.
I live in Shanghai, by the way.

Depending on your location and if in china, why not buy a laptop from china. China's technology is growing at fast speed like a Pentium III processor. But, if in the United States and you want to spend the money buying the laptop from China and shipping to the States, go ahead. If you look around there are many laptops in the states that are like the ones built in China. If it was me, I would look in my area for a good laptop and then consider other options.
