Here are some differences in Muslim beliefs and Catholicism:
1. Muslim believe in absolute Oneness of the Almighty God with no partnership and that Jesus (peace be upon him) was a Prophet in human form.
Catholics may be doing a lip-service to monotheism but actually practice as Trinitarians (three deities sharing divinities with some tongue twisting explanation toward monotheism )
2. Muslim believe that Jesus was a Prophet in human form, a messiah or redeemer for those who believed in his message as a Prophet and lived by it (which by definition is Muslim), and not as Catholics believe in Jesus as a Redeemer in the sense that if one just believes that he died on the cross for his sins as the Catholics believe then he is saved (like a free lunch in faith). Also Catholics believe that Jesus is God and part of the Trinity.
3. Muslim believes that the message of Jesus has not been kept intact, that the Pauline Christianity is not the message that Jesus brought and that those who believed in One true God with Jesus as a human prophet were silenced after Emperor Constantine adopted the Trinitarian creed around the time of the First Council of Nicen in about 325 AD. See : http://essenes.net/CouncilOfNicea.html
All books, documents etc were burned by the decree of the Emperor and the Trinity church that proclaimed Oneness of God and Jesus as a Prophet only. Only literature related to Trinity was left behind.
That is why Muslim believe that God sent a Messenger (Muhammad) to proclaim again the One True God with no partners.
4. Original Sin: Muslim do not believe in original sin. - Islam teaches that every human being is born pure and sinless with no baggage from the past (from prophet Adam or any other grand----grand-parents). Every newborn is considered Muslim and sinless until he reaches the age of accountability (puberty) and accepts other paths
5. Confession: There is no ritual of confession in Islam as it is practiced in Catholicism. There are no intermediaries between a person and God the Almighty. If a person does a misdeed, he can truly repent and ask God (Allah) for forgiveness at any place at any time all alone. However, sincerity of repentance is a prime condition which is logical because God is all-knowing. No intermediary is required at all. This is always between you and your God. God has said in the Quran that I am closer to you than your jugular vein. Call me and I will listen and respond. Ask for forgiveness after really true repentance and I will forgive you as if you were just born, pure and sinless. Call me by my name or any attributes and I will listen and respond.
6. Jesus on the Cross: Catholics and other Christian believe that after sentencing by Romans at the instigation of the Rabbis, Jesus was hanged and resurrected after three days and ascended to heavens.
Muslim believe that at the time of raising on the cross, Allah planned a confusion among those carrying out the hanging and they knew not (and who can deny such a power with the Ceator) and another person was substituted for Jesus by the planning of Almighty and Jesus was saved and raised alive by God to heavens to come back later (called 2nd comin).
7. Catholics respect Muhammad but not as a Prophet.
Muslim believes Jesus as a Prphet of Islam
There are other difference` but those of related to the Old Testaments and not Catholic`specific.

Islam teaches peace and so does Catholocism. I would never advise my children to marry outside our faith, regarless of how nice or good the other person is. There is so much that different religions do no have in common and it makes for such a mess later in life. I was raised in a two-religion home and it was confusing! Some things that you might consider...are you going to have your children baptized and if so is he going to object? Really, really, really??? And then when you want the kids to be confirmed and have their first communion, these are celebrations that daddy is not going to be able to participate in. On the other hand, what do you know about Ramadan? Or Eid? How would you feel about not celebrating Christmas and celebrating Eid instead? There will be no pork served at your table (and I would die without ham!) and there will be no alcohol either (and if you like to indulge once in a while, that is going to be a big deal!) He will want to someday make a pilgrimage to Mecca and you will not be able to attend with him. There are so many important joys and milestones you won't be able to completely share. I'm glad that he's a good man. But look within your own faith and culture. Marriage is hard enough when you come from a similar socio-economic-religious background. It becomes nearly insurmountable when you find someone of a different background.

Catholics are just one type of Christianity.
What are the differences between Muslims and Christians? is probably a much easier question to ask.
*Catholics don't worship Mary. They just respect her a little more than the average woman.

Catholics believe that Jesus is the son of God and was crucifed on the cross, Muslims believe that Jesus was merely a prophet of virgin birth and was accended into heaven and not crucified. Muslims also accept Muhamad as the final prophet of God.
Muslims also think that there should be no scuplures painitngs etc. of any person or god. The Catholics have tons of paintings of people in their churches and one of God in the Sistine Chapel

There is no much of a difference if you ask me. Muslims believe in God and the Prophets sent by God such as Adam, David, John and etc. In Islam Jesus is also a prophet who carried the same message as the previous messenger believe in one God the creator of all things. The birth of Jesus was among the many miracles like Adam created without a father or mother.
side note:
Those that commet acts of violece in the name of of whatever religion they follow are not a representation of the whole population. Therer are good and bad in every religion. Stay away from bias information seek your own

Well, Jesus is the main difference. Catholics believe that Jesus is God, part of the Trinity and Muslims do not. They believe he was only a good prophet and not even as good as Mohammad

Do you really have to put them in the same sentence?
Catholics do not kill for their religion. Maybe 600 years ago, but not now. We have learned from history, Muslims have not.
(With all due respect). They'll get it someday!
