that stuff is so full of man made colorants and conservatives that it is the only risk-free food after a nuclear conflict. so it could nonetheless be good.. btw in case you wait long adequate the cranberries develop into wine...

Once it's opened, it shouldn't be on a shelf, it should however be refrigerated. Is this a trick question?

It should last up to a week easily if it remains covered. If uncovered it will get a rubbery skin that while isn't harmful, it makes it less than pleasant to eat.
