That is not true in general. However, it is true for some particular cases. Larches and tamaracks can drop all their needles when stressed.

Not here in Nova Scotia! Balsam fir ('Christmas Trees') keep their needles no matter what (unless dea, of course!).

FALSE. I've seen plenty of dead ones with their leaves still on them. eventually they do fall off though.


They drop them when they are dead.
