A proper diet is the best way to lose weight naturally and keep it off. You have to eat a varied adequate and balanced diet. Your body needs all kinds of food to function properly including fat in smaller quantities though. Your body needs the nutrients and vitamins in fruits and vegetables the most, that is what you should eat the most of (at least 5 servings a day). You also need protein, and a little fat. Reduce your intake of sweets, fried food and foods that contain a lot of fat. Don't drink too many alcoholic beverages or soft drinks (they have a lot of calories). Don't go to sleep right after you eat. And finally exercise at least 3 to 4 days a week for about 45 minutes.Good luck. You can also get more information about nutrition from this site:

The ultimate weight-loss plan is to burn more calories than what you take in normally. Don't count calories or carbs...as long as you get some healthy exercise 4-5 times a week, you will see changes. But you'll gain it back if you eat unhealthily. So here are some tips:
-EAT ORGANIC!!! It's more expensive, but it's less expensive than the medical bills you'll be paying for diseases caused by bad eating (no more brand-name foods!)
-Cut out sugary and fatty foods (but don't let the statements "sugar/fat free" fool you...they have stuff in them that is worse than real sugar or fat!)
-Eat less fatty meat, less dairy, and MUCH more fresh fruits & veggies, whole grains, raw nuts, uncanned beans, and fresh-cooked potatoes
-Avoid white bread, rice, and pasta; eat whole wheat
-High fructose corn syrup, corn starch, hydrogenated oils, nitrites/nitrates, food coloring, and unpronounceable/unkown chemicals you can't read are all things you should completely avoid at all costs (yeah, hard!)
-You don't need to go to the gym to get exercise...it costs too much and you could get better results by just going for a brisk walk/jog every morning or evening
-For muscle toning, start out SIMPLY! I personally just don't like gyms cuz they are way too overrated! Do it at home
There's so much more to say, but these are the basics. I hope this helps! ;)

I'm reviewing the nutrisystem diet plan. I know I will have to exercise as well as change my eating habits. Try to decide for yourself that you want to look and feel healthier. Every little step you can take for yourself betterment is a step in the right direction...Starting with asking your question. Just commit to something and if you slip up a time or two or three or four....don't be too hard on yourself. It takes discipline and self-determination; and I know that you are worth it. I am too!!!!!!!!!! I'm 47, 181 and 5'7"...not what I used to be. Must make a change... you can too! Believe in yourself. Check out nutrisystem.com

Work out, eat less but don't starve yourself. Gradually eat less so you can train your body to be full on less food. Trust me! It works, after a while, less food will make you full.
