I don't know why 'you' should. All I can tell you is what Jesus has done in my life and how, "after" these things were done, they lined up with what the Bible said. I know I kicked drugs, alcohol and an anger problem, which I couldn't do on my own. No matter how hard I tried or wanted to.

I have studied this in detail. The bible is very accurate and very reliable. There are over 5000 documented ancient findings of the bible that have been cataloged. All the same and accurate translation. Even the ones in different languages. We have a piece of the gospel of John dating 90-100 ad.
There are over 300 prophecies in the Old test . that have come true just about Jesus. This is very important.
It is the best selling book of all time.
Did you know the bible says the world is a circle? Did you know the bible says to circumsize on the 8th day and I learned in anatomy class that we have more Vitamin K in our bodies on the 8th day after we are born which helps to clot our blood?
Also it's the best history book every written. Historians over and over have said, "nope that's wrong there's no place called that on earth from the bible" Always proven wrong. One was the city of Ur where Abraham lived at the time. It has been found now. They have found the tomb of Ciaphas who was high priest that sent Jesus to Pilate, they have found writings of Pilate. SO much more.

I believe the Bible because of the things it talks of that 1000's of years later Science Proved to be true. Also, the Prophecies that I see that came true and are coming true. The prophecy of the coming Messiah, to me, was a good mind blower. All a person had to do was the Math and it bring them to when Jesus entered Jerusalem on a Donkey. I always say, I believe this how the Wise Men knew the Messiah had been born, they done their Math and maybe did not know the exact time or day, but, they knew the time was there.

If to ask the question,How did we get here? It is really narrowed down to two choices. We were either created or we evolved from a lower life form. Considering this I think it is worth ithe Bible when it has a 50% chance of being true.
Friend ,keep something else in mind. If you ever ask someone if the Bible condradicts its self they will say yes. Then tell them to give you an example. 99% of the tim they can not. This is just an illustration of peoples thinking. Find out for yourself.
Thanks for your time.

The bible has more errors than my second grade paper on the atom.
I hate typing this over and over....
1) Passed down by word of mouth. Think "Telephone Game" and you get the idea.
2) First round of scribes -barely literate.
3) Second round of scibes- illiterate. Copy letter by letter.
4) Third round of scribes- Shorthand a lot. Add stories and change words to make it jive more.
5) First round of translators- Decypher shorthand and "Scriptum Continuum". "godisnowhere" means one thing to theists and another to atheists. Plus, going from one language to the next is really imprecise.
6) King James- changed a verse: "Thou Shalt not Suffer a Witch to Live". Changed word m'kashepah (poisoner) to witch.
Enjoy. :-)

The bible is all hear say, and educated priests know that.
The bible isn't real, just like mythical stories are not real.
People believe in the bible because they are either brainwashed or feel they need to believe in something in order to live.

since it was people writing to others, and then edited later, then told to be not man but devine...I think we should not believe the bible but rather see the message of love and working together to make this place a better one to live in

because its the word of God. YOu need to repent of your sins and accept Jesus as lord and savior in order to understand the message of the Bible. Our Faith comes from God, not man's teaching. therefore, pray to God that he may give you understanding. on the side, the bible is 1/3 prophetic and flows cohesively even though it took 1600 years to write by 40 different authors in 3 continents and 3 languages, they were all inspired by God>

Why not?
One thing I tell people is that I rather believe in God, His Word, and Jesus then die and find out I'm wrong, than not believe in all of that and find out I'm wrong.
But I believe in Him regardless. He's pretty dang awesome.

Well, the history's solid. Mythology of any religion, however, should always be taken with a healthy dose of salt--and the history intertwined in most mythologies, also, is solid.
