FICA is not the right thing to look at when seeing how much you will get back. Instead you want to know the federal income tax withheld. I think married filing jointly would be the correct option. Did you work and earn income at all this year? You will be able to take a standard deduction for each of you, (10,300 total) and you also receive an exemption of 3,300 for each child. You might also look into the Earned Income Tax Credit, which you may be able to claim for up to two of your children. With all of these possibilities available to you, I would guess that you will receive a refund but without knowing the amount of federal taxes withheld, could not say in what amount.

FICA doesnt matter...you need to see what the federal withholding is and then you can figure out your refund...other factors to consider are whether or not you are going to itemized or take the standard deduction. Did you have any income or is that the income for both of you? You can file using taxact.com and it will walk you thru all the necessary steps and its free! Good luck.

if you go to the post office or the library they have quick forms you just pretty much fill in the blanks then use a calculator to do the math and that will have an almost exact amount including all your exempts and how many you claim and so on and so forth cause off the top of anyones head it wouldnt be agood answer and then you would need to tell them all your details cause one little detail could change alot.

with five dependents, file jointly, should be under 10% of your gross.....you may have to pay more taxes if you don't declare all five.......i would estimate about $400 back to you......you probably pay more taxes than most of congress
