My cat loves it..she sticks her butt in the air when I pet her there

its because it is the hardest area for them to scratch themselves. You will notice in older cats and fat cats that that is the spot with the most dandruff, because they cant reach it to clean it well!

it's a hard area for them to scratch plus they have scent glands under the skin there....just like on their face

I think that they get sexual pleasure from it. Just look at that "sticking their tails in the air" thing. It's like..."H-E-L-L-O!"

So does mine, but a lot of them hate it, so be careful. I think it stimulates pleasure in their brains but sometimes they get overstimuatlated and bite.
