Problem watching DVD's on my pc?!!!?

Question

I use VLC media player to watch DVD's as nothing else worked (media player, divx, quicktime real player, none of them worked due to codecs?!!) but VLC just starts playing the film, i don't get the menu screen so can't access any of the special features, any ideas what program i could use to watch DVD's that starts the menu too but also has the codecs like VLC?!!!

Try Power DVD. The latest version (11) of windows media player requires an additional dvd decoder you have to download for a fee to play DVD's I already have power dvd and would have thought it would be enough for WMP. I backdated my WMP to version 9 and it now plays DVD's as well, But I prefer Power DVD.

media player and the other players listed require a specialised DVD player software be installed. a good software video player is called powerdvd from http://www.cyberlink.com/multi/download/trials_1_ENU.html

that link is for the free thirty day trial. once the trial is up you can buy the software. or see if one of the other programs is better for your needs.
with power dvd you can easily capture movie stills from your favourite films to use a desktop wall paper or any non comercial home project you wish. however using the images comercially without the copyright holders permission would be a breach of copyright and would mean either a fine or jail time in extreme cases.

when u install this...during set up it will ask u to install
codecs
media player
divx converter
and something else
all u need is the codecs
the other stuff is optional

now go watch what u want

this DOES WORK for ALL movies u download throught torrents or limewire...it will let u play dvd that u rent or burn urself
if it is porn.....and u need special codecs...these might not work....but they should

I use Power DVD. It gives you the Menu and you select what you want just like playing it from the DVD player on the TV.

i saw this n thought u were gunna say im using windows media player n i woulda suggested VLC buuuut u already got it
i just played with the menu after a while i got to what i wanted

Check out slysoft.com and download the 30 day trial for "anydvd". I can play literally ANYTHING using this app, and I am soooo grateful to the guy who put me on to this app. On average you get 3 FREE updates each month. Lotsa other cool apps there, but anydvd is the best IMO
