For the past 4 years I have been working in an office in Manchester, England. I have had several arguments with a male collegue and have suspected for the past year that he has been tampering with my lunch. I often take a small sandwich or cup of soup to work and leave it in the staff fridge. On many occasions I have discovered what I can only describe as a sticky gray substance in my food... something I blame on my colleauge. Without any hard proof that he has been sexually tampering with my sandwich and soup is it wise to confront him? Or should I continue to eat contaminated lunch every day until I find this proof? Please help!

Sounds suspicious, but you should be careful of blaming your work collegue if you do not have actual proof that he is in fact been tampering with your lunch. Don't say anything, but if you cannot leave your lunch somewhere safe (in your office) buy a small locked box (readily available at hardware and major stores) and keep your lunch in this. Good luck.

Why exactly do You think it was Him and not a female who is "tampering" with Your lunch? You could always ask Him to eat Your lunch for You and watch the various reactions. Or would that be a tad nasty?

Eww, no way! You need to let your supervisor know that someone, regardless of who it is, but someone is tampering with your lunch. And next time it happens, take it to her and show her. No!, don't eat it. If anything, maybe your supervisor will help you put a hidden camera in there to catch the culprit. And maybe take two lunches, one for him to tamper with, and another one to maybe put in another fridge, or hide in the same fridge to eat. You can't continue to eat this crap, whatever it is. That's nasty!

How can you continue to eat contaminated food? If you want to continue taking food to your office, make sure you seal the food or the container it is in carefully and securely. Make sure that it is very difficult to unseal or open it and make sure that you will surely know if it is tampered with. Find a foolproof way to seal it. No one should be touching or fooling around with your food. Yucks!

Don't do anything you might regret later. Wait to bring this topic out until you have solid proof. My advice would just be avoid this guy, keep your lunch with you at your desk, or in your purse, and watch your back.

Bring something non perishable and keep it w/ you. Or in your vehicle. Or do a decoy lunch, with a cam inside and put your real lunch somewhere else. Also try a "to go" box and write someone elses name on it.

Take a lunch container that you can keep at your desk with an ice pack in it, so you don't use the community fridge.
