Some people are just like that with alcohol. It could be the type of beverage that he chooses to drink, or just alcohol in general. I know I can't have Taquila, or I get really mean. I have a friend that can't drink Jager. But most importantly, you need to talk to your partner about his reaction while drunk. You don't deserve it, and if he continues to do things like that, even while drunk, then you need to kick him to the curb. You ARE a queen, and deserve to always be treated as such.

Alcohol does have that effect on some people. I'm not saying it is ok for him to treat you that way, nor is it OK for you to take it.
You have a choice: 1. You can leave the relationship now.
2. You can give him a chance to change. Discuss his actions with him (when he is SOBER!) and ask him to stop drinking to so it doesn't happen any more. He will either agree and try to stop drinking or he will disregard you feelings and drink when he wants to.

It is nice to know that someone else has a "split" personality boyfriend, the one who is sober and the one who is drunk.
My fiance can be very mean, I mean abusive. He is an alcoholic, not as bad now as it was before, but I still don't like it.
The best thing you can do is realize that when he starts to drink, you better remain sober so that if you have to leave, you can.
But let your boyfriend know how you feel, let him know that he becomes mean and you really don't like it.
I tell my fiance that I hate him when he is drunk, I also don't give him any sex either, to let him know that I really don't like him drunk regardless.
They all claim they don't remember, but they remember more than what they are willing to admit to. Maybe you need to record your boyfriend too, sometimes that'll wake them up too.

I was married to one like this. It only got worse. Eventually the verbal then physcial abuse came to play. The marriage lasted 2 yrs. and a child I have to raise alone because he still drinks. Not to say they are all alike, but most I've talked to ended up with the same situation. Good luck.

He needs to stop drinking. There are two type of people/drunks. Happy social and mean/angry. There is nothing one can do about which type they are, it has to do with the way your body breaks down enzymes. But if you are a mean drunk, you should just not drink....period. I would make him aware and let him know you simply will not put up with it. If you don't mean it, then don't say anything.

DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT make a serious committment (like marriage) to this person. Nip this in the bud now or say good-bye. You will not have an easy life. He needs help, AA or even suggest couples therapy. Good Luck!

My ex was that way w/ whiskey. But I felt it was just an excuse. B/c eventually it started to happen when he was sober and got steadily worse. I would explain to him that if he chooses to drink, (at least to that pt) then you won't stick around to be treated that way. He can choose you or the drink!!

these kinds of peole might never change, are you prepared to live with such a person who wont stop doing it...... Maybe when he is drunk and says all of this mean stuff, maybe that his inner thoughts that he keeps secret. the unconscious mind speaks the truth of one's thoughts. This could get abusive, so beware.
