If you had chickenpox you can't get the same type twice. The next stage of that virus is called Shingles, which is a lot worse. Once you have chickenpox, the virus never leaves your body, so at any time in life you can break out in shingles. It doesn't affect your whole body, instead, shingles tends to break out along a nerve path. It is important to treat Shingles before it follows a nerve all the way up to your eyes or the brain because then it can cause blindness or brain damage.

You can't get shingles unless you have already had chickenpox. If you get shingles and don't think you ever had the chickenpox, you had a very mild case of it and probably didn't notice it as chickenpox.

Yes you can, usually it is worse the second time around, based on my observations.

[Shingles is caused by the latent chicken pox virus in the body, typically it is triggered by trauma/stress in life, including even minor stress/illness of other types.]

A person can only catch chicken pox from someone with chicken pox.
Prescription For Nutritional Healing" states that "an estimated 90% of people who have had chicken pox are at risk of developing shingles. Those who have never had chicken pox have very little chance of developing shingles because it is not very contagious."
Hope this helps :)

yes. if you did not get a good strong viral strain the first go around, you can get the chicken pox again. also, no one is immune from chicken pox, even if you get the vaccine as it will only come out either right away (a reaction to the vaccine) or you will get "shingles" later on in life.

i had chicken pox twice within two months as a kid.

No, but if someone has had chicken pox and becomes reinfected with the virus the person can develop shingles which is extremely painful.

Yes, though ussually when you get it the second time the dieases isn't as severe. In general being shorter and less irritating.

The same goes for the Vaccine. If you do happen to get the dieases after the vaccine it is less severe.

My Child development teacher says in elder people this also causes Shingles which is terrible. So it's better to get it young.

yes it is very rare though.. this is why

once your body defeats the virus you have for the first time, your body knows how to kill it faster and easier and what kills it. so you can never get a virus twice but only on a RARE occasion you can. You get a cold more than once because there are over 200 different kinds of colds so your actually not getting the same one

Yes but it's pretty rare.. but i do know someone who has had it three times by the age of 16.. most people are immune from it once they have had it..

If you are adult you can get shingles from people with chicken pox (i think)..but i don't know much about that
