California USA, my favorite chocolate that I can actually afford is Sharfenberger, a US product made with old world tecniques.
My favorite chocolate that I can't afford is from La Maison Du Chocolat in New York and Paris.

I'd love to join you!! I live in the US and the chocolate here isn't anything super great, but there is quite a choice in options. :) I would say probably the best is godiva. There's also hershey, sarris, nestle, and about a million others I can't think of right now.
