I just got my tongue pierced and it seems like my mouth is always so dry. I don't breathe with my mouth open, but it seems like my mouth is constantly dry. Is this normal? If so, why is this happening? Has anyone else felt this way? HELP!?

Did the piercer tell you to dilute the mouthwash 1/2 water, 1/2 mouthwash? If you are using mouthwash alot, the alcohol in the mouthwash can dry your tongue/mouth out. A lot of times the tongue turns a white/grey color if too much mouthwash is being used. Just use it after you eat and when you wake up. Other than that rinse with water if you feel the need to freshen your mouth. GOOD LUCK!

Personally, I don't think you should have gotten your tongue pierced.
Its just plain gross. But if your mouth is dry, you should see the person who pierced your tongue in the first place. It might also be dry because you JUST got it done.

How Long ago did you get it pierced??What are you using to keep it disinfected??Try mixing your disinfectant with water half and half and see if that helps, the mouth rinses can be terribly drying to the mucus membranes.

okay soo when i got my tongue done, just like when i got my nipples done they give you a list of side effects and things that could happen....they told me i could lose feeling on one side of my tongue.. well i did not but the tip of my tongues taste buds feel weird and tingle all the time like when you burn your tongue... I dunno if they did this for you or not, but im sure its just because you just got it done. they also said that i would swell and i did not, your probably thinking about it too much relax and wait a while, if you jus got it done today or yesterday. wait til the swelling goes down..

Because it is not normal to have a piercing through your tongue, honey. Come on, who wants to sound like an idiot when they're talking? Don't you want people to hear you speak clearly? And it looks gross to people you're talking to.
