It all depends what your looking for. I was married for 10 years and got divorced. My ex and I were not blessed with children so we fought over the dogs. I always wanted to have children but felt I may be too old to start making them. (39) I decided to try doing the single mother dating scene. I met someone wonderful. She has a 6 year old son and he is the greatest.

You just have to remember a few things. The single parent you date is a package deal. You have to be ready to do things together with the kids. You have to be able to deal with the fact that you will never be the #1 in their life. Kids will come first. You may not get to take off on a whim and you may have to deal with some "ex" issues.

You have to do some self reflection to decide if your ready for this type of scenario. I have found it to be very fulfilling and a ton of fun. We are engaged and I can't wait to be the greatest step dad in the world.

I feel that if you are going to marry someone with kids then it is important to realize that it is a package deal. The kids come with the one you love and you have to accept that before marriage. Make sure you can deal before you make any decisions. If it was meant to be then the decision can wait till you feel comfortable!!
